Mùa Thu Cho Em Is Live This Year!

Mua Thu Cho Em started in 1994, and this year we will hold the 26th live concert in this fundraising series on November 6th, 2021, in Santa Clara, California.

In view of last year’s Covid-19 preventive measures, we did not conduct the event in 2020. Because of this hiatus, we have been inundated this year with requests from sponsors, volunteers, and MTCE fans for us to resume producing the show. In response to this demand, MTCE will be back, but with ample social distancing, masking, and vaccination requirements, so as to ensure a fun, safe, and healthy evening of music for everyone.

After 25 annual concerts, MTCE has become a household name in most Vietnamese American communities in the San Francisco Bay Area  and in Orange County. This annual concert is an essential fundraising activity that allows us to perform charitable and relief work on behalf of the poor, handicapped, disadvantaged people in Vietnam’s most remote areas. It is in that spirit that we appeal to you, our benefactors, donors, friends, and devoted fans, to support the series, to donate generously during this year’s event, to purchase tickets for you, your families, friends, coworkers, and to come celebrate this Fall season with us at this live concert.

..And Its Beautiful, Talented Musicians

Phượng Cầm band leader Minh Phuong comes from a musical family living in Central Vietnam, was classically trained at the Hue National School of Music, and continued her studies and honing her skills with renowned piano instructors once she settled in the US in 2012. She showed her musical talents early in life, and has performed and garnered awards at many concerts in Vietnam, China, and Thailand. The Phuong Cam band is her brainchild and life’s project. It consists of nine young, attractive, and hugely talented women, all with academic degrees in music, playing an assortment of cello, violins and keyboards. Several of them are further blessed with beautiful voices, and the band is poised to conquer our hearts and minds here in the Bay Area.

Baritone Đình Bảo

Dinh Bao, born in 1981, is a baritone singer originally from Vietnam, having studied and graduated from the Music Conservatory in Saigon. In 2001 he and his brother Thuy Vu, together with two other male singers Hoang Bach and Nam Khanh, all from the Saigon Music Conservatory, formed the novel a capella all male singing group named AC&M. The group was well received by music lovers and made a name for itself by delivering captivating, harmonious, and technically flawless vocal performances of music written by renowned artists as well as songs that they themselves composed. While the group went on to successfully tour in the US (including at several MTCE concerts) and all over Vietnam, each of its members developed his own style and repertoire, and recorded separate albums and produced live shows of his own as well.

In 2008 Dinh Bao resettled in the US, and the AC&M group was disbanded. Dinh Bao initially had to study English on his own, taught music at Evergreen College in San Jose, and worked as a piano tuner. He continued with his musical career, however, and was soon noted and invited to cooperate in their programs by Thuy Nga Paris by Night productions. Subsequently Dinh Bao has appeared in many PBN concerts, DVDs, special shows, and most recently in many of their online, streaming, and YouTube videos. Dinh Bao appeared for the first time in the US in the MTCE 2007 concert as a member of the AC&M group. He went on to perform in our MTCE 2015 and 2019 events, and will be back for the upcoming 2021 production. He is an accomplished, classically trained musician, singer, songwriter, composer, and music arranger. He loves performing romantic songs and ballads, and will once again, by popular demand, be back this November to delight our MTCE audiences.

MC Jimmy Nhựt Hà

Jimmy Nhut Ha is a well-known YouTube personality, with over 100 videos published on his “Jimmy TV” channel, in which he interviews noted Vietnamese American entertainers, artists and cultural celebrities. This channel with over 48K subscribers is widely believed to be the first and only Vietnamese program that successfully introduces artists from previous generations to a younger audience of Vietnamese Americans and helps them better appreciate the culture, music, and traditions of their forebears. Hailing from Little Saigon in Orange County, Jimmy had his start as an MC and singer at the club Lạc Cầm in 2016. He then went on to become a host on SBTN’s “Musical Journey” TV show, as well as for many musical programs put on by Việt Báo news magazine. Most currently, he’s also serving as the 7AM News anchor for the Người Việt TV channel each weekday.
